Assisted Reproductive Services

If you are considering third party reproduction, it is likely that your reproductive health care team will require a psychological evaluation.  Our team provides psychological evaluations needed for egg donors, egg donor recipients, and gestational carriers.

Egg Donation

To be approved as an egg donor or egg donor recipient, you will need to undergo a psychological evaluation.  The goal of this evaluation is to gather personal and family history related to psychiatric functioning, education, and other information that could help match parents-to-be with an egg donor.

As a prospective egg donor or egg donor recipient, it is important for you to know the potential psychological impact of your decisions, both in the short-term and long-term.  This is explored as part of the evaluation process to ensure that you are making an informed decision about this important life decision.

Gestational Carriers

Most surrogacy agencies require prospective gestational carriers (also known as surrogates) to undergo a psychological evaluation.  This evaluation serves multiple functions, including assessing the carrier’s ability to lead a healthy lifestyle throughout pregnancy and any history of mental health or substance abuse concerns.

Our goal in this evaluation is also to ensure that prospective gestational carriers are aware of the potential psychological impact of this decision and are able to provide informed consent.

What’s Included:

  • 60 minute clinical interview (in person or via telehealth)

  • Administration of selected self-report measures of psychological functioning

  • Interpretive report that is provided to your reproductive health care team

Cost: $350

Upon completion of the evaluation, you may find that you could benefit from ongoing psychotherapy to work through complex reproductive healthcare decisions and the complicated emotions you are likely to experience throughout your journey.

We are here to help.
